You just might be a Progressive Democrat if…

August 3, 2017

By Richard Kirk

Jeff Foxworthy made it big with his “you just might be a redneck” routine.  Foxworthy’s success inspired me to flatter him, sincerely, with a “you just might be a Progressive Democrat” imitation.  The take-off goes as follows:

If you think you are the most tolerant person in the room but label all opposing views “hate speech,” you just might be a Progressive Democrat. Continue reading “You just might be a Progressive Democrat if…”

More Federal control leads to ineptitude and destruction of the American spirit.

Should we dissolve the Indian reservations?

The New York Times had a long article describing how the town of Whiteclay, Nebraska (population 12) sells millions (yes, millions!) of alcoholic beverages every year because the town is just over the border from the local Indian reservation, where alcohol is banned.  (Forgive me for calling them American Indians, but as nearly all the people reading this are “Native Americans,” it’s a much more descriptive and specific term.)

The situation is so bad that in Whiteclay, you can find dozens of American Indians lying comatose on the streets, drunk out of their minds, like a scene out of The Walking Dead.

You’re Fired!

Dear Mr. or Mrs. Ambassador,

You’re fired!

SIGNED:  Donald J. Trump, President-Elect, United States of America

Well, maybe not quite like that, but it would fit in a tweet.  Besides, he told them it was effective January 20, 2017, and he told them on January 5th.  So, he followed recognized and acceptable professional standards and gave them two-week’s notice.

Plus, Mr. Trump flashed his first business acumen in a direction that neither requires nor allows any Congressional involvement.  World chaos?  Boom!  Stay calm everyone, we have a new sheriff in town.  Your new representative will be appointed soon.

Mr. Trump, if I may, a suggestion from one of my disciplines – project management.  When corporations or government entities grow to a certain size, they often implement what are called a “project management office” or PMO in the vernacular.  The definition of a PMO is as follows:

  • project management office, abbreviated to PMO, is a group or department within a business, agency or enterprise that defines and maintains standards for project management within the organization. The PMO strives to standardize and introduce economies of repetition in the execution of projects.

Perfect.  You might want to consider a PMO for the Office of the President that has a Scope of Work (SOW, also project management lingo) to remove all government functions not aligned with the enumerated powers of the federal government as stated in the Constitution of the United States.  For your immediate reference, they are itemized right HERE.

Yes, of course, some of them have changed, some have been expanded, and some are just down right un-Constitutional.  It would be part of the SOW to determine that Constitutionality.  It would also be the charter of the PMO to provide alternative plans for services now provided in Washington that should rightfully be provided by the states.  When that occurs, the PMO’s project for that agency would include a plan for smooth transition to the states.

Yes, sir, I know, a “YUGE” undertaking.  But, a man of your talent and connections could surely find a team of individuals capable of the task.  It would take quite some time from start to finish, so be sure it is constructed to prevent intervention with any annoying changing of guard that is so prevalent in Washington.

Good luck to you, sir, let me know what we can do to assist and thank you for your service,

Respectfully Submitted,

Richard “Doc” Owen, PMP, Ph.D.

Kerry v. Israel…

I reviewed with interest a recent post of the John Kerry “support” of the United States vote of “present” in the United Nations rebuke of Israel.  In the comments to the article was one response defending Mr. Kerry’s previous lack of integrity when he testified before Congress on atrocities during Viet Nam.  It elicited the following Facebook post on my part and when I was done, I felt it worthy of inclusion on the blog.  You may see the original here.

“_________, if that is your picture, thank you for your service, if not…well you know what should follow. Viet Nam was surely a nasty quagmire, every war is, but that still does not give any one soldier the right to condemn or throw his fellow soldiers under the bus. If you want to see a patriot testify before Congress, please review the questioning of Oliver North…particularly the questions around “were you ordered” and his response of “Sir, of course, I was ordered, I’m a Marine”, but never putting anyone in his line of fire.

It is “soldiers” like John Kerry that have allowed our military to become completely political. Men of integrity and ethics have been banished, limited, and removed ever since Viet Nam. I know, I was there. This is not from a historical perspective, it is from a personal perspective. Today’s military “leadership”, unfortunately, is greatly understaffed in men with honor. Not all, understood, but one weak link is one too many.

So, in the future, as you post in defense of any military weak link, please be aware of the damage you are perpetrating in an already faulty system. The military must not only be allowed to weed out the “john kerry” component, it must be encouraged to do so. Maintaining absolute integrity within the ranks is the only way to shine the light where it belongs…political influence and agendas.

Trumps 100 Day Plan

Hello Patriots,

Unless you searched the net or watched LevinTV, you may not have seen this.  I am submitting this on behalf of the Doc Owen Show.  It is important information and serves as a starting point of your campaign to keep President Elect Donald Trump to his word.

Many of you are disappointed in Donald Trump because he is not a conservative or not conservative enough.  After you read this we would be like to know what you think of Trumps agenda. Perhaps you have a comment on some of the issues or question them.  Please send us you opinion.

This is from an address Trump gave at a recent Gettysburg gathering.  Enjoy!

These are his words formatted in a way that enables you to read each proposal.

“Therefore, on the first day of my term of office, my administration will immediately pursue the following six measures to clean up the corruption and special interest collusion in Washington, DC:

100 Day Plan

Donald Trump spoke at a rally in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, where he shared his plan for his first 100 days in office. The rally took place at The Eisenhower Complex in Gettysburg. An official count of how many attended has not yet been released. Trump spoke not only about his plans for his first 100 days in office, but also about the women accusing him of assault and about the media’s coverage of his campaign. (Getty)

The Founding Fathers are no Longer Relevant?

Progressives/Socialists have been trying  to convince us that the Founding Fathers are irrelevant to today and that the Constitution is a tired old document which does not apply in this day and age.  I, for one, disagree. Continue reading “The Founding Fathers are no Longer Relevant?”

Is a Revision of Constitution Dangerous?

Scofield revision of Constitution dangerous

In this article the author attempts to disqualify an Article V Convention. His arguments fall flat as they portray a false image of a COS.  I felt compelled to set the record straight.

Not many dayarticle-vs ago, a misleading news item appeared that began “The Convention of States is viewed as a way for states to take back control…”

It went on to quote Alabama State Senator Clay Scofield as saying that “The Article V movement” challenges “the ever-growing reach of the federal government.”

The good senator and others who believe that have been duped, hornswoggled, misled, lied to, by reckless politicians who hide the danger of such fiddling with the U.S. Constitution. Continue reading “Is a Revision of Constitution Dangerous?”

What if your Chief of Police says “No! You’re Wrong!”

What if your Chief of Police says: “No! You’re Wrong”

By Richard Mays Owen, PMP, PhD

I recently attended an event sponsored by the local Tea Party organization that hosted the Chief of Police for a discussion on “sanctuary cities”. The premise was to answer the question…”is our city a sanctuary city, or not?” Continue reading “What if your Chief of Police says “No! You’re Wrong!””
