Millennial Candidates Embrace Socialism, while Venezuela Chokes on it

Franklin Bynum was unchallenged and won the Democratic nomination to become a criminal court judge in Houston. Mr. Bynum is an avowed socialist and he’s not alone in that conservative state. At least 16 other socialists appeared on the ballot in primary races across Texas. Socialism has oozed out of college classrooms and into the ballot box. “Yes, I’m running as a socialist,” Mr. Bynum told the New York Times. “I’m a far-left candidate. What I’m trying to do is be a Democrat who actually stands for something, and tells people, ‘Here’s how we are going to materially improve conditions in your life.’” Wanna be Judge Bynum is a member of the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA), which is growing by leaps and bounds after Trump’s election, even in conservative states. The NYT reports, “D.S.A.’s membership has increased from about 5,000 to 35,000 nationwide. The number of local groups has grown from 40 to 181, including 10 in Texas. Houston’s once-dormant chapter now has nearly 300 members.”

“Real Socialism” Has Indeed Been Tried — And It’s Been a Disaster

To my Millennial friends who favor Socialism:  beware of what you are asking for. UB   05/05/2018 Ryan McMaken May 5th marks the 200th Anniversary of Karl Marx's birth, and in spite of inspiring a wide variety of political movements that have caused countless human rights disasters, Marx continues to be an object of admiration among many intellectuals and artists. One such example can be seen in Raoul Peck's new film The Young Karl Marx which portrays Marx is a principled radical with a laudable thirst for justice. Fortunately for Marx the man and his reputation, he never personally gained control of the machinery of any state. Thus, the dirty work of actually implementing the necessary "dictatorship of the proletariat" was left up to others. And those who attempted to bring Marxism into the light of practical reality, quickly found that applied Marxism brings impoverishment and the destruction of human freedom.

As students protest, they are missing out on the history lessons they need

It is certainly fine that children are protesting guns and mourning the loss of students.  But it is time for parents, teachers, the media, politicians, and other adults to teach some facts about history and why we have a Second Amendment so that these students know what they are protesting about. Does taking away guns really make people safer?  The North Korean people are not safe because the tyrants don't allow ordinary citizens to have guns.  Disarmed, they are in danger every day.

It’s Official! Look Who President Trump Just Named A Terrorist Group – Cities Are About To BURN

By FreedomDaily
There’s significant evidence, however, that there’s a much more cowardly breed of terrorist growing up in our midst. First, let’s discuss the true meaning of the term “terrorist” directly from the dictionary.

The Pied Pipers of the Millennials

June 12, 2017 By Christopher Chantrill   A couple of weeks ago, John O’Sullivan was confidently writing about the British Conservative Party finally getting it all together, and uniting the three strands of Toryism -- the economic freedom and enterprise of Thatcher, the nationalism of Churchill and Disraeli, and the skepticism of Peel and Lord Salisbury -- into a real political force at last. And I wrote approvingly of this prospect on my blog. Well, so much for that. After the British General Election on June 8, we are being taught that Corbyn’s leftism is in the driver’s seat, powered by the enthusiasm of Millennials.

Defending the Indefensible

June 15, 2017 By John Steinreich The false narrative of Operation Trump-Russia is the latest in a long train of episodes wherein Democrats have actively defended the indefensible. Emerging in the 1820s to counter the Whigs in favor of Andrew Jackson in 1828, the Democratic Party has had an age-old tradition of fighting to advance every bad idea in American history.
