Blue Wave Crashing? Poll Shows Support Amongst Millennials Fading

News Commentary

A new poll of registered voters shows support for the Democrat Party is starting to wane amongst a rather shocking segment of the population – millennials.

The group who typically fits in with liberal thought, or the lack thereof, is not only losing their enthusiasm for the party, but they’re starting to recognize the Republican Party as better stewards of the economy.

What an absolute disaster for Democrats who simply assume that the midterm elections, six months away, are there’s for the taking.

According to a new Reuters/Ipsos national poll of over 16,000 registered voters between the coveted age bracket of 18 to 34, support for the Democrat Party over the last two years has dropped 9 points, down to 46 percent overall.

That kind of low-energy love for the opposition party may not bode well for their future, especially with a need to recapture so many seats in 2018.

The enthusiasm gap “presents a potential problem for Democrats who have come to count on millennials as a core constituency,” Reuters writes, “and will need all the loyalty they can get to achieve a net gain of 23 seats to capture control of the U.S. House of Representatives in November.”

How could this possibly be with Democrats tagging the trendy new, uber-cool slogan, “A Better Deal: Better Skills, Better Jobs, Better Wages?”

That alone should draw in the young ones.

The worst part for liberals is that these young folks are enjoying the concept of paying less in taxes and getting bonuses for their work that Democrats openly refer to as “crumbs.”

One voter cited in the Reuters article, a 34-year-old African American, almost sheepishly admitted that Republicans are doing more for him than that other party.

“It sounds strange to me to say this about the Republicans, but they’re helping with even the small things,” he said. “They’re taking fewer taxes out of my paycheck. I notice that.”

People notice more money in their paychecks. They notice ‘crumbs.’

In January, Philippe Reines, a former top adviser to Hillary Clinton, worried that millennials would vote Republican once they saw their taxes go down.

He worried they would become content once they saw more money in their pockets.

“I hope millennials don’t fall into a lull,” Reines said. “God knows how many of them will see their taxes go down and base it just on that …”

Perhaps now would be a good time to remind those very same millennials that Democrats have vowed to take those tax cuts away from them, to raise their taxes and decrease the amount of take-home pay they receive.

“It may have to be a ‘replace and repeal,’” House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi has said of the GOP tax bill. “Replace them (Republicans) and repeal the bill.”

Trump to pull feds out of K-12 education

By S.A. Miller – The Washington Times – Wednesday, April 26, 2017

President Trump signed an executive order Wednesday to start pulling the federal government out of K-12 education, following through on a campaign promise to return school control to state and local officials.

The order dubbed the “Education Federalism Executive Order,” will launch a 300-day review of Obama-era regulations and guidance for school districts and directs Education Secretary Betsy DeVos to modify or repeal measures she deems an overreach by the federal government. This Conservative Millennial Explains Why Trump’s Policies Are Better for Black Americans

Of course, our conservative policies are better for a black community. If you think of everything that we’ve gone through historically, it is because of Democratic policies that we are worse off today than we were 60 years ago.

Turning Point USA’s Candace Owens spoke to The Daily Signal’s Rob Bluey about why conservative policies are better for the African-American community. Owens appeared at the White House’s Generation Next forum for millennials Thursday. An edited transcript of her Daily Signal interview is below.

Rob Bluey: How did you become a conservative? Continue reading “This Conservative Millennial Explains Why Trump’s Policies Are Better for Black Americans”

Parkland Student Takes Call From White House, Jaw Drops at What Comes Next

David Hogg has become the media darling of the Parkland shooting. And, while we don’t take any pleasure in bashing survivors of mass shootings, Hogg has since transformed himself into a political figure in his own right — one more than willing to bash anyone who disagrees with his view of the world and of gun control.

It’s Official! Look Who President Trump Just Named A Terrorist Group – Cities Are About To BURN

By FreedomDaily

There’s significant evidence, however, that there’s a much more cowardly breed of terrorist growing up in our midst. First, let’s discuss the true meaning of the term “terrorist” directly from the dictionary.

Think Global, Act Local!

Remember that phrase?  Nothing could be more appropriate to our political process.  How often do we get caught up in a presidential campaign and ignore the consequences of inaction in the local fights?  All too often, I would submit.

Case in point…the Bexar County, Texas, Sheriff’s election last November and the already evident results started even before the outgoing Sheriff, Susan Pamerleau (Maj. Gen. USAF, Retired) had gracefully left office.  She is being replaced by a typical, barn-burning, scorched-earth Democrat Javier Salazer.  He was “temporarily issued” a Temporary Restraining Order (TRO) against her just days before the official transition.  “Temporarily issued” because it was rescinded as soon as she filed a response.  But, again in typical liberal fashion, he doubled-down as soon as he took office at one minute after Midnight on New Year’s Eve and issued a No-Access Order for her and nine of her staff members…as if they intended to re-enter the building with malicious intent.  What a joke!

Now you might ask…if she was so great, why did she lose the re-election?  Good question, and I happen to have the answer in three parts…

Part One:  Democrats are known to promote and vote a straight ticket in elections.  No matter the candidate, they follow the party line like sheep to the slaughter.  Republicans, not so much.  Republicans even lament that Democrats do that, all the while not appreciating the power it gives them.  In Bexar County, Texas, in November 2016, the Democrats led straight ticket voting 195,215 to a Republican total of 137,368 from respective total votes of 278,102 to 273,914.  That is 70.2% of Democrats versus 50.15% of Republicans voting a “committed to the party” vote irrespective of the candidate.  Sheriff Pamerleau lost by only 4,188 votes.  Keep reading, I’m not done, yet…

Part Two:  Third party candidates that split the vote.  With respect to the previous paragraph, the Libertarian candidate in the race received 5,428 straight ticket votes.  Those votes alone could have provided the winning margin for Pamerleau who ran as a Republican.  Then, to add insult to injury, the Libertarian candidate took a total of 18,889 votes out of the conservative sector.  Although I certainly respect and often appreciate the movement outside the two party system, there are times when collective activism carries a much stronger message.  Think “Tea Party” results in such a brief period of time (less than 10 years) as compared to Libertarian Party results in forty-five years.  I think I just heard a collective “well, duh!”…

Part Three:  The Republican Party does not support local candidates.  You heard me right.  In some archaic view of local elections, there were no party affiliations.  I know, because I held that view.  It is a righteous view, but not a realistic view.  So, Republicans, you lost that effort a long time ago.  And, by holding on to your pristine view of these local elections the Democrats have taken control of every major metropolitan area in the country, not to mention thousands of others.  Time to get your head out of the sand and wade into this fight.  You are currently a majority in everything else – the Presidency, both houses of Congress, thirty-one state Governors are Republican, and the list goes on…until you get to local elections.  Unfortunate, unbelievable, and if it continues unforgivable.

So, to summarize, the Bexar County Sheriff’s race was handed to a liberal, sanctuary city supporter, two-faced, scorched-earth Democrat for three simple reasons…

  1.  Straight ticket voting habits of Democrats.
  2.  Third party candidates in a race they could not win.
  3.  An inability of Republicans to support party politics locally.

Now that you have some time to think about your next local election, please, give this some thought.  If you agree, spread the word.  If not, good luck in attaining your desired results.

Fighting for Our Agenda.

SSB ImageThe Progressives of the Democratic party are already plotting and scheming on how to block our American agenda.  They are sore losers who simply do not give up even when the American People make it clear in which direction they want to go especially if it’s different from their Socialistic schemes.  They cry compromise when their definition of compromise is do things their way or face obstruction and character assassination.  They use intimidation instead of reasoned arguments.  They lie, cheat, mislead, divide and do everything they can to deter responsible Americans from restoring sanity to our Government.  I don’t mean to exclude the Republican Progressives, however, their role is to go along with what the left wants.  They are in effect enablers, too afraid to take the side of those of us who care about our American founding and culture. Confession: I’m A Backwards, Closed-Minded Millenial

Because not everything can be true and good.

I cannot tell you the number of times that I have been in a conversation with a friend or a stranger on an airplane and the phrase, open-minded, comes up.

“Oh, I grew up Catholic, but I don’t go to church anymore. I believe in God and all, but I am open minded.”
